Physics of sports video
What we had to do
We were required to make a video about sports to help our sports players improve at their sport.
The Video
Our video was designed to help baseball players hit more home runs whie keeping a good swing.
The Physics
Reflection
In this project, there were many things that i could have improved on. One thing is staying on task. I found myself getting distracted from the bat and ball. We could have gotten a better clip if i were to stay on task. The next thing that I could have improved on was my leadership skills. I found myself having to ask my group mates what to do instead of taking initiative getting things done myself.

The Physics
- time is shown is seconds
- mass is in kilograms
- distance is shown in meters
- force is shown in Newtons (1lb is about 4.5 Newtons)
- Vertical distance: 1/2at^2. Acceleration (a) due to gravity: 9.8 m/s^2. Time: 0.96 seconds. Top of its trajectory: 4.5 meters
- The next concept we used was Velocity (V= d/t or velocity equals change in distance divided by the change in time). Velocity of the ball leaving the bat; 30.4 m/s.
- The final concept that we used in our project was horizontal distance. We just measured the distance from the batter's box to where the ball landed so there was no eqation needed for this. The ball went an average of 60 meters.
